About

Me

My interest in photography started back in 2016 whilst living in Canada when my friend Kendra convinced me to get Instagram (back then it was still epic photos and not dancing videos) before we started a 6-week road trip down the west coast of USA.

My aim then, with a rubbish Samsung phone in hand, was to capture one shot a day for the duration of the road trip. Of course, this, along with the incredible sights, sparked a passion for photography and a way to express the creative side that I have always had. For the duration of my time in Canada I practiced when I could and enjoyed some incredible trips but with limited funds I was still using my trusty phone camera at this time.
Canada will always be my first love and the place I wish to return one day but in 2018 after my visa was up I moved to Germany with my Fiancée (Lisa) who I had met in Canada, and that gave me some down time to research cameras, watch countless how-to tutorials on YouTube and finally buy into my first camera system.

SONY. I decided that mirrorless was where the market was shifting to, and Sony were leading the way at the time, so I bought my first APS-C camera just in time for my next move to New Zealand. From there I learnt photography with a ‘real’ camera for the first time and although I didn’t produce many photos that I was happy with over the 8-month period, I confirmed I wanted to continue with this and enjoyed seeing what NZ had to offer.

That brings me to Cologne, Germany where I lived for 4 years after NZ. I spent money upgrading my gear again (full frame) and started really trying to produce work I could be proud of and maybe share with others one day. I spent my weekends and holidays combining my passions for photography, travel and the natural world, going wherever I could afford and remembering them with the shots I took. I have been lucky enough to visit places like Switzerland, Iceland, Portugal, Peru, Norway etc. as well as my home country England and of course Germany where Lisa is from.

I have now moved back to the UK, spending one year in Scotland before moving back to my home county of Devon. I keep planning trips, I have made a photobook I hope to one day sell and I continue to explore locally whilst learning what I can about Landscape photography. The south west of England has become my base, with plenty of beauty on my doorstep I am never far from a Bluebell wood, Coastline or the ruggedness of Dartmoor National park.

Thanks for your support and interest.
